Athens at dusk
By some stroke of luck my flights to Athens were two of the only ones that sailed through the volcanic ash cloud and I arrived in time for last nights screening at the Goethe Institute. What a great event! It was hosted by Pride Athens and the Canadian Embassy in Greece and close to 400 people came – the room was packed – and the discussion afterwards was fantastic. Athens Pride is at that exciting mid-stage where the people involved are very enthusiastic and their support grows exponentially every year. It was obvious the film made a real connection to their passion. It was great to have Nikolai Alekseev from Moscow Pride here too, bringing us more updates from his work in Russia and Belarus. All in all it’s fair to say that Athens is officially Beyond Gay. Thank- You Andrea and your team for an excellent event. Next stop – Zurich May 1st.
